Year 2000 Compliancy for CO-OPS Products

June 23, 1999

Dear User:

The purpose of this statement is to explain the status of Year 2000 compliancy for all products directly generated by the Center for Operational Products and Services (CO-OPS). These products include but are not limited to the Tide and Tidal Current Prediction Tables, Published bench Mark sheets, and water level and tidal current observations and associated products.

Status: All CO-OPS products are generated using Year 2000 compliant software and hardware systems. The most important thing to know is that we are confident that the hardware and software associated with generating our products will not stop functioning on January 1, 2000 due to the date roll over.

Year 2000 Readiness Disclosure

We have employed our best efforts to ensure Year 2000 compliancy with all of our products. Because there are other components to your installation such as the operating system, browser and specific hardware associated with your personal computer, that are outside our control and which may affect compliance, we cannot guarantee that your particular system will function properly. Therefore, we are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of our products except as provided by law.

The testing of all of our hardware and software was performed using the Year 2000-compliant definition and specifications listed at:

http://www.rdc.noaa.gov/~irm/y2kchk.htm

The test results are documented in the "Year 2000 Compliancy" report prepared by CO-OPS' Information Systems Division below:

  1. National Water Level Observation Network (NWLON) Data Processing and Analysis Test Plan (PDF)

  2. Non-Critical Systems Test Plan (PDF)

  3. Tide and Current Predictions Test Plan (PDF)

  4. Current Data Processing Test Plan (PDF)

  5. Physical Oceanographic Real Time System (PORTS) Test Plan (PDF)

  6. Continuous Operational Real Time Monitoring System (CORMS) Test Plan (PDF)
